On September 1st, there were media reports that the Financial Services Commission of South Korea will delist OKEx platform users. At the same time, there were also rumors about plans to change the blockchain business license framework from the National Foreign Exchange Management Bureau to “Virtual Currency Trading and ICO Registration Management Regulations” before the end of October. In response to this, the Network Information Office has officially released the “Announcement on Conducting Internet Enterprise Information Services” and will suspend related trading services and activities starting from September 15, 2018.

According to insiders, since early May this year, a large number of customer applications for virtual asset exchange accounts have been closed due to domestic policy reasons. As a result, some investors have started to seek protection from third-party institutions. And according to official statements recently, “starting from November 2019, we will cooperate with regulatory authorities in various regions to gradually carry out delisting procedures according to the relevant requirements of the People’s Bank of China.” The above-mentioned insiders told HiveEcon: “For individuals, we believe that delisting does not mean stopping all business operations,” but some industry experts also believe that this is inconsistent with OKEx’s operating entity. “I don’t expect such things to happen again in the near future.” From the current perspective, this news is also true and understandable, but from a legal perspective, it may still have some impacts.
